Winegrowing area

A great wine cannot be fully described without explaining the indissoluble bond between grapes and the area where they are grown. Barbaresco wine can be produced exclusively in 3 areas (Barbaresco, Treiso and Neive), plus a portion of the town of Alba (San Rocco Seno d’Elvio): we are talking about a total of 2.400 hectares divided in two macro areas: one including Treiso, San Rocco and most of Neive with softer soils, and the other one including Barbaresco and the part of Neive bordering on Barbaresco, with bluish marls of calcareous origin.

These firmer soils lend the wine structure and ageing potential.
